The Yeezy 350 model has been making some headlines this year, with multiple release dates coming to fans. First, it was announced that the iconic Zebra colorway will be receiving a restock this month. Sneakerheads have been thrilled with the recent releases of the ‘Core Black/Dazzling Blue’ model and a colorway I personally like, the ‘Oreo.’ But there is rumored to be another colorway in this classic model that I am genuinely excited for as I believe this is one of the best colorways to release this year. That’s the ‘Beige/Black’ colorway anticipated for a release date of Summer 2022.

According to House of Heat, this colorway could be getting a release within a few months. I am infatuated with the beige colorway as this is an immediate cop. What makes the 350 models unique is the various colorways the Adidas brand can create. Although they can be hit-or-miss, this one is explicitly a hit with me. 

Today marks Nike’s annual Air Max Day, where sneaker enthusiasts celebrate one of Nike’s iconic models within their respected catalog of sneaker releases. Pictured above is the model’s original release dating back to March 26, 1987.

The model was first advertised on its origin date featuring Nike athletes with background music of ‘The Beatles” ‘Revolution.’ Although this sparked controversy and lawsuit settlements, the model created hype and brand loyalty.

Since the initial release date, Nike has introduced several ‘Air Max’ silhouette variations. My first pair of Air Max’s was a re-issue of the model pictured above around 2006-2007. I remember the shoe being comfortable, stylish and receiving praise for its appeal. My favorite pair of Air Max’s would have to be 2018’s Nike’s Atmos Animal Pack Release. I swapped the black laces with white as this makes the shoe pop. It has garnished some head turns and is a personal favorite in my collection. Not far off is the 2007 release of the same model. 

Whether you are a sneakerhead or want to purchase a new pair of Nike’s, the Air Max collection is worth your time in investing money and research on which pair to buy. So on this day of honoring the classic silhouette, wear your favorite Air Max model and recognize one of the best shoes Nike has released.

March 22nd marks the fourth re-issue of the already iconic Yeezy 700 ‘Waverunner.’ This silhouette is my favorite amongst the various Yeezy collections Kanye West has successfully created at Adidas. The shoe made its

 initial debut in 2017 and has since been re-released in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

This model specifically was the first Yeezy model from Kanye’s time at Adidas that drew me in. This is because the shoe looks eerily similar to what has been famously coined as a ‘dad shoe.’ Does it have the appeal of something fathers would sport with a fresh pair of jorts, t-shirt tucked in, and ankle socks pulled up high? Absolutely. However, this model has all the looks of a ‘dad shoe’ but a modern, hip edge towards its design. I finally acquired a pair that I believe was from the 2021 re-issue a month ago. 

This is one of the few shoe models I will cherish because of its bold presentation. Kanye worked with legendary sneaker designer Steven Smith, famous for crafting some of the most iconic New Balance designs the sneaker industry knows and loves, including the 574s, 997s, and 1500s. Smith is also responsible for the creation of the Reebok Instapump Fury. Taking two creative talents in Smith and West is a recipe for mad success when collaborating, and this was their result.

When asked about the collaboration process, Steven Smith said of Kanye West: “I think Kanye trusts me the most because of the way I am, the hunter-gatherer mentality. I soak it up and become a co-conspirator with him on what YEEZY is, what it represents, and it just flows.” And rightfully so. 

This model will be one of this year’s biggest re-releases and a must-have for sneakerheads and Kanye West fans. This model will be available through various raffles, select retailers, and of course, several pairs will be available through re-selling sites.
